Student Exchange Program Brings 10 South Korean High School Students to Garden Grove
The City of Garden Grove is pleased to welcome 10 high school students from Anyang, Republic of Korea, as part of the Sister City Association of Garden Grove’s Student Exchange Program. The students will arrive on Saturday, January 20, 2024 to begin a 9-day stay in Garden Grove with local host families.
During their stay, the students will meet Garden Grove Mayor Steve Jones and the Garden Grove City Council, tour Garden Grove Unified School District high schools, and visit areas of interest in Orange County and Los Angeles.
Anyang students will also be honored with a Community Spotlight at the regular Garden Grove City Council meeting on Tuesday, January 23, 2024.
During Garden Grove Unified School District’s 2024 spring recess, 10 Garden Grove Unified School District high school students will visit Anyang and stay with host families, experiencing Korean culture first-hand.
Promoting cultural understanding and appreciation through education and travel, the Student Exchange Program helps bridge the gap between Garden Grove and its sister city, Anyang, Republic of Korea, while highlighting the unique aspects of Garden Grove. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Student Exchange Program has not been held since 2019.
