Construction is scheduled to continue through late November 2023 on Lampson Avenue, from Dale Street to Haster Street, to add new bike lanes as part of the Bicycle Corridor Improvement Project (BCIP).

Day and Night Work: Thursday, November 9

  • Day, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. - The contractor will layout the bike lanes with temporary markings.
  • Night, from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. - The contractor will install the loop detectors.
  • Temporary “No Parking” signs will be posted along Lampson Avenue for both day and night work.

Night Work ONLY: Monday through Friday, November 13 through November 17, and Monday, November 20

  • Night, from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. - The contractor will stripe the bike lanes one side of Lampson Avenue at a time. Due to the standard 72-hour “No Parking” notification process, signs will be posted on both sides of the street. One side of the street will always remain open for parking during the bike lane striping.

School drop-off and pick-up zones will remain open and accessible during school hours.

Construction schedule is subject to change. Please check ggcity.org/bike regularly for updates.

The City appreciates your understanding and cooperation during the construction.

The BCIP is a federal program that provides funding for projects that make bicycling and walking easier and safer in Orange County. This project originated from the City's Re:Imagine Garden Grove initiative and Medal of Honor Bike and Pedestrian Trail to improve active transportation and implement community-identified goals. The project will add bike lanes along five major streets in the city.
