Garden Grove Residents, Businesses to Receive Emergency Alert Test Call Thursday
On Thursday, September 21, 2023, at 9:00 a.m., all Garden Grove residents and businesses with an active landline will receive a call to test the County’s regional mass notification system known as AlertOC.
The exercise on September 21 will test AlertOC’s ability to deliver emergency notifications to Garden Grove residents and businesses during a disaster. The phone message will also encourage residents and businesses to register to receive notifications by visiting www.alertoc.org.
AlertOC aims to inform residents and businesses of emergencies that may require immediate lifesaving actions. To date, AlertOC has been used within Orange County cities for both system tests and actual notifications. By registering with AlertOC, time-sensitive voice messages from the County or City in which you live or work may be sent to your home, cell, or business phone. Text messages may also be sent to cell phones. AlertOC can send out messages to email accounts and TTY devices as well.
For more information on AlertOC and to register yourself and your family, visit www.alertoc.org.
