August 22, 2023

On Saturday, September 30, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., the Garden Grove Sanitary District and Republic Services will host a shredding and community cleanup day at the H. Louis Lake Senior Center’s east parking lot, located at 11300 Stanford Avenue.

Residents will have the opportunity to bring up to five boxes of paper for safe and secure on-site shredding and dispose of bulky items like appliances, furniture, mattresses, carpets, and more. E-waste collection, including TVs, computer monitors, and other electronic items will also be available. A limited amount of compost provided by Orange County Waste and Recycling will be available for pick up.

Items not accepted include hazardous waste, batteries, LED lights, refrigerators, freezers, AC units, concrete, dirt, and tires. For a complete list of prohibited items, visit ggcity.org/cleanup-days.

This will be a self-service event in which residents will be unloading their own items on a first-come, first-serve basis until bins are full.

In addition, Republic Services provides special collections of bulky items at no charge for single- and multi-family residents. Each household receives up to three bulky item pickups per calendar year and is limited to up to 10 items per pickup. The service is by appointment only by calling (714) 238-2444.
