36th Annual Garden Grove Police Department's "Call to Duty" Memorial

The Garden Grove Police Department’s 36th Annual “Call to Duty” Memorial, takes place on Thursday, May 18, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in front of the Garden Grove Police Headquarters, located at 11301 Acacia Parkway. The annual service honors the six Garden Grove police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty; Sergeant Myron Trapp, Officer Andy Reese, Officer Donald F. Reed, Officer Michael Rainford, Master Officer Howard Dallies Jr., and Lieutenant John Reynolds.

Garden Grove TV3 will be providing live coverage of the 35h Annual Garden Grove Police Memorial, starting at 4:45 p.m., accessible at bit.ly/32CallToDuty23.

The guest speaker is retired Garden Grove Police Chief Kevin Raney, who served alongside officers Reed, Rainford, Dallies Jr., and Reynolds. The memorial also features a flag-folding ceremony, memorial bell ringing, helicopter fly-over, a 21-gun salute, and musical selections by the Bolsa Grande High School Choir.

East and west bound Acacia Parkway, from Garden Grove City Hall to 9th Street; and Civic Center Drive, from Garden Grove Boulevard to Acacia Parkway, will be closed on May 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Parking will be available at the following locations. No tickets will be issued during the time of the event.
• Parking lot south of Garden Grove City Hall, 11222 Acacia Parkway
• Parking lot west of OCFA Station #81, 11261 Acacia Parkway
• Parking lot east of the Garden Grove Main Library, 11200 Stanford Avenue
