Multi-family residents can now properly dispose of bulky items, such as appliances, E-waste, furniture, and similar large items for free through Republic Services’ free bulky item pickup program. Each unit of a multi-family property receives up to three pickups per calendar year and up to 10 items per pickup. To schedule a bulky item pickup with Republic Services, call (714) 238-3300.

Multi-family residents should work with their property management to determine the best location for pickups. Items must not exceed 200 pounds and should not require special loading equipment, such as a forklift.

Residents may also rid their household of unwanted and unused items for free by attending the Garden Grove Sanitary District and Republic Services remaining community cleanup days scheduled through May 13 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Dates and locations are:

  • April 8, 2023: Garden Grove Unified School District, at 10331 Stanford Avenue
  • April 22, 2023: Garden Grove Municipal Service Center, at 13802 Newhope Street
  • May 13, 2023: Skylark Elementary, at 11250 Mac Murray Street (rescheduled from February 25)
