Furthering the City of Garden Grove’s “Re:Imagine Garden Grove” efforts, Historic Main Street, between Acacia Parkway and Garden Grove Boulevard, is undergoing a 4-month enhancement project, with a tentative completion in November 2022. Enhancements include the installation of dining parklets and permanent decorative tree lighting. Historic Main Street will remain accessible to vehicles and pedestrians during construction. There will be no curb parking during construction hours, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Parking is available in the Pecor Plaza lot and the parking lot at Grove Avenue.

“The City continues to re:imagine its downtown area with enhancements that heighten its unique sense of ‘place.’ Soon, residents and visitors will enjoy new outdoor dining spaces beneath the glowing lights of Main Street,” said Garden Grove Mayor Steve Jones.

In addition, a plaque, dedicated to Garden Grove’s longest-standing family-owned-and-operated business of nearly 90 years, Zlaket’s Market, will be installed at its former location, at the entrance of E Patisserie and Café, located at 12919 Main Street.

Also, two utility boxes, located at the corner of Garden Grove Boulevard and Main Street, and the corner of 9th Street and Garden Grove Boulevard, will feature images of the historic Pacific Electric Right-of-Way, and Cottage Industries, respectively. Cottage Industries is an innovative project featuring unique small businesses within repurposed homes in the Civic Center area.
